Truth Changes You

I find truth is revealed and realized. Truth can not be acquired simply by reading Words.  Truth however can be realized from the contemplation of words read.

Words are only symbols that we use to communicate. It is only our identification with what those words represent that words convey any meaning or realization. In actuality, truth is ONLY found within ourselves and the process in which we seek to understand meaning from the words we may hear or read.

New realizations of understanding come from our combining things which already have meaning in new ways. Truth, which is all understandings that are consistent with current reality, is found in the combinations of existing understandings. New truths are found in our recognition of new associations and relationships existing between our currently held ideas, concepts and beliefs all of which were formerly acquired in similar manner.

When we contemplate our current held ideas regarding the word we study, we are asking for new insight to be revealed in regards to what we already accept as truth or the sum total of all we currently believe which we call reality.

ALL such askings are answered. Contemplation is always met with the discovery of relational insights that in the doing of which, new aspects are recognized and when recognized as believed we call that a realization affecting reality. Again, Reality is the sum total of all we believe and hold as true or realized. Realization is the process which begins with contemplation and the acceptance of recognized discoveries as truly believed.

To put this another way and using the example of Seth study, I find that in reading of Seth ‘concepts’, truth reveals itself in a gestalt fashion; as each of the parts are put together, the realizations of the whole are more than the sum of the individual parts or words uttered in the Seth sessions.

Of course this is because with every Seth word read and contemplated, we interpret the latest words against the back drop of our current knowledge exposure, interpretations and beliefs.  The result is ALWAYS greater than the last piece of information and more than the sum total of the individual aspects each piece brings. In Relationship and association, the gestalt becomes larger than the individual aspect or individual perspective.

It is for this reason that when seeking to understand the Seth materials, Seth strongly encourages his material be studied from the beginning, but he also states that what you learn while reading changes you and what you read next time has new meanings or significance because it is actually received by a different person.  You are a different person; following each realization of truth, beliefs are affected and the self, which represents all you believe, is changed and becomes a different self or person. With each next new concept received and new aspect realize, you are a different person. If you read out of sequence, a different person reads the latest idea and a different person results from any realization received. Since Reading or Learning out of sequence affects the one reading differently, the self that that reads in sequence is not the same as the person that results from reading out of sequence. This can be observed in all the variety of individuals that share local events with us; we observe the same events, but do not interpret things the same. Since no one has the same personalities as us, there is NO ONE that perceives our reality just the same as we do. Hence, we have the great variety of personalities of mass consciousness and all the value fulfilling benefits we receive from mixing it up with them.

“You read yourselves from the top of the page to the bottom, or from what you think of as the beginning to the end. Your greater reality, however, is read in terms of intensities, so that the psyche puts you together in a different way.” —NotP Chapter 7: Session 779, June 14, 1976

“Now, I have been, in many ways, a sly and cunning teacher, for the material is given in such a way that as you read it and use your intellect and intuitions to understand it, you automatically develop both your intuitions and your intellect and expand the nature of your own consciousness, though part of the training of consciousness itself is in the body of the material as it exists. To the extent that you extend yourselves, your abilities will automatically be developed, as you read and study the material.”

“You must use your intellect and your intuitions and read some passages four times.”

For that reason re-reading and even changing the physical mechanism you use to LEARN affects you differently. For that reason, I record all the Seth materials to audio during study and often listen to a session 5-10 times. Let me know if you’re interested in access to all my Seth audios on this web site (send email to realize@believeit .us).

For me, I found the greatest insights arrived once I started over at Session 4 found in ES1 and continuing from ES1-ES9 all The Early Sessions materials. (I had already read 4 of his later books when I started ES1) By the time I reached the material on matter in ES2 everything was different and all the Seth material mattered. (A little Seth humor).

With that said, Christopher Galpin has created a very powerful search tool ( http://search.sethtalks.com/ ) for searching all references to the words related to the concept you have found yourself attracted to study.

I would suggest “value fulfillment” is insightful, but of course it is always YOUR current interest, knowledge and belief foundations that are key to understanding YOUR reality.

We need only ask, then:  BelieveIt 2 REALizeIt

Background

The Seed found in Mixing it up with mass consciousness (Facebook.com).

Seth on Killing And Violence:

“You can not kill. As long as you can extinguish a human consciousness forever, then murder and killing are crimes. And, you must deal with them. As long as you believe in the reality of violence, then violence is a crime. And, you reap its fruits. There will never be a justification for killing or violence.

Since there is no death, in your terms, there is no murder. We will have some long sessions dealing with this matter. But, I tell you all, now, no good will come of violence. The gains that seem to be won will end in the violence of those who bring them about. The violence will be reborn in them. It will be part of their reality. And, others will turn against them. This applies to any people at any time.

If there is one message I would give to you all, it is that there is no justification for killing. There is no justification for hatred. There is no justification for violence. It may occur. But, those who indulge in violence are themselves changed. And, the purity of their purpose adulterated. They are no longer the selves that they were.”

Seth (Jane Roberts), ‘The Early Sessions’, Book 1 ESP Class 01/21/1969.

Alana Woodfield Adams This is a very interesting quote considering Seth has said in other quotes that buddhists who believe they are suffering karma from another life and they have not control over it are wrong…apart from gaining merit which is how to alleviate bad karma. I’ve seen another quote about not caring about people living in poverty and how this attitude will follow you into other lives. I would love to nut this out. It seems Seth says karma isn’t real but I think he is being misunderstood because he still believes in the concept of karma. Here he says “the violence will be reborn in them. It will be part of their reality. ” and the part “they are no longer the selves that they were” seems confusing as he always says beliefs can change this. Anyone?

Michael Olsen I agree, this is a very interesting quote. The entire subject might seem related to Karma. It seems to allude to effects resulting from an action which most would agree is causation or cause and effect. To some degree this quote even smacks of linear time with effects following after violence.

But that is only because we are discussing this within a reality framework that is built upon and requires use of the concepts of causation and locality.

In actuality, our true Fuller reality is a subjective one that is sensed only.

Once we decide we want to express a subjective sensing, we have to shift to a perspective that allows expression. Expression requires the use of mental constructs which Seth calls camouflage in order to make or express the subjective.

All expressions by their very nature must use symbols that have relationships of causation ( cause and effect) and locality (time and space).

So we use symbols that have the characteristics of time and space cause and effect in trying to get a better understanding of things which are subjective.

These understandings are what Seth refers to as action.

Action is the only thing that evolves or expands or grows or follows what may be considered sequence for lack of a better way for expressing it.

In actuality, action is the only aspect of reality that increases or expands. Action is the psychological awareness of achieving evermore or ever greater subjective realizations of value fulfillment (finding value and being more fulfilled in the acquiring of it).

So then what does violence or murder represent subjectively that is so damning to our expansion in terms of value fulfillment?

I believe it is fear which imagines the encountering of value deprecation, or the losing of that which is valued and being less than we were because of it. This we do when ever we fail to recognize the realizations of value fulfillment for which all constructions of physical reality exist and for which we create all that we ever did or ever will create. This includes failing to see the value meant to be realized in that annoying soul mate you at times feel like murdering. Jmho

Alana Woodfield Adams Thanks for taking the time to answer Ivan and Michael. Does Seth talk more about this subject in this book? He says he will go further into it but he doesn’t always cover subjects in the same book.

Michael Olsen Alana Woodfield Adams In the actuality of my view, Seth rarely ‘covers’ a subject in a single session or for that matter a single book. I find that Seth ‘concepts’ reveal themselves in more of a gestalt fashion; where as each of the parts are put together, the realizations of the whole are more than the sum of the individual parts (sessions).

Of course this is because with every Seth word read and contemplated, we each must interpret Seth against the back drop of our current Seth exposure, beliefs and interpretations.
