Remember I told you we three fathers went on a motorcycle trip. Well, as it turned out, it wasn’t too long after being psychologically traumatized by the county mounty and his spinning red light, we encountered rain.<\/p>\n

Now there are Sunday riders, daily riders and all weather riders. I am mostly a fair weather rider, so we headed for town to find a cheap motel.<\/p>\n

When I\u00a0say cheap I mean we look for cheap! … and that’s what we found. <\/strong><\/p>\n

We each 3 chipped in $10 and had it covered with $30.\u00a0 We no sooner got to our room when the hotel clerk realized she had charged us too much (did I tell you it was really cheap?).\u00a0 She gave $5 to the bellman and asked him to take it to us.<\/p>\n

Now the bellman only had 5 one dollar bills. So when he arrived to our room, he decided it would be easier if he only gave us back $1 dollar each. After all, he’d not had a chance to get a tip so he felt somewhat justified in keeping the 2 dollars.\u00a0\u00a0Bellman gave each of us one dollar and in leaving, almost as an after thought, he said thanks for the $2 and disappeared.<\/p>\n

Remarkable but confused <\/strong><\/p>\n

The bellman departing gave us cause to start a new discussion. Remember; the hotel was cheap and it didn’t have a TV.\u00a0\u00a0We were obliged to provide our own entertainment.<\/p>\n

True of his good nature, Dad got us started thinking about how truly cheap our hotel experience was. Then, he revealed we had been cheated. Somewhere we had lost a dollar.<\/p>\n

Dad proceeded to recount the events of our transaction:<\/p>\n

  1. We each put in $10.<\/li>\n
  2. There were 3 of us – That’s makes $30<\/li>\n
  3. We each got a dollar back – That makes $27\u00a0 (3 times $9 = 27 )<\/li>\n
  4. Recognizing\u00a0the bellman helped himself to a $2 tip, we realized we had lost a dollar somewhere.\u00a0\u00a0 27 + 2 = 29.<\/li>\n
  5. Where had we lost the other dollar?\u00a0 30 – 29 = 1 lost<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Belief of the Lost One <\/strong><\/p>\n

    What is your reality in this matter? Is there a missing dollar or NOT? Certainly the math is correct!\u00a0 (3 times 10 = 30)\u00a0\u00a0(10 – 1 = 9)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0(3 times 9 = 27)\u00a0 (27 + 2 = 29)\u00a0\u00a0 (30 – 29 = 1\u00a0lost)<\/p>\n

    In reality, the group was somewhat entranced by the steady vibration of the motorcycle\u00a0ride we had just completed. Maybe they were even a little mesmerized {hypnotized} by the spinning red light of the county mounty. One thing for sure,\u00a0none of us could quite intellectually discern where the lost dollar had gone.<\/p>\n

    Now there must be a lesson in here somewhere. Some metaphysical concept that once understood can help keep us from forming incorrect conclusions about reality.<\/p>\n

    Metaphysics to the rescue<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Can you identify what it is? Can you identify what is wrong with this picture? What is the principle that is so commonly violated in the process of intellectual realization?<\/p>\n

    If we can recognize it, we can add it to our list of beliefs we have realized!<\/p>\n

    New beliefs often luminate the errors of former ones, and since we are all naturally driven to make discoveries adding value improvements to life’s experience, we WILL IMPROVE our experience as we continue. It is the nature of all conscious awareness! Believe it! Realize it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
