Knowing what you believe

You may say: but, Oh! I believe! Every word from Genesis to Maps is true!

Saying is easy. The truth of one”s belief is actually only observable by seeing how one acts.  That is; we all act according to our beliefs. If you really believed you had a million dollars in your bank account and desired to buy that new suit of clothes for your daughter, you would NOT say. I have no money.   You would not say, we’ll have to wait for better times. You would not say, sorry – we can’t.

In time, everything you believe is ALWAYS demonstrated in what you do.

But this is nothing new.  James said the same when he said: You say you have faith, I’ll show you my faith by what I do. Faith without doing is dead.   My own version.

So why does NOT our actions show we believe: What things soever we desire when we pray, believe we receive them and we shall have them.

If  our actions do NOT show agreement with the word, we are NOT in belief.  Unless of course you’ve never had a desire … but then if you try to make that claim, we simply shift our problem to the realization that you do not know yourself or you’re dishonest.  But those are other thoughts for other posts… Believe it!  and you’ll Realize it.
