Value

We’re all required to decide value. We do it every moment of everyday. Value is decided according to what we believe of the options we have within our reach to experience. We have options all through out the day at every moment. Just as beauty truly is within the eye of the beholder, the value of every option, of every moment is determined ONLY by “us”. This “us” is the ego and he or she is very opinionated. Every moment the ego is called upon to determine:

  • What are our options and how do we see them; that is:
    • What have we learned of them and decided we believe of them previously and stored in the brain for quick reference.
    • Specifically what is their potential for bringing desire satisfaction; the greater their potential for satisfaction, the higher they rank in value.
  • What we believe of those options today was in turn decided based upon what we experienced and decided of all we compared them with as we previously ranked them and decided their potential for bringing value or desire satisfaction the last time we considered them.
  • A ranking is learned for each option and its’ ability to bring value is constantly being re-assessed and re-evaluated with each new opportunity they appear as an option of choice.

We make assessments, evaluations and decide value every time we evaluate or rank our alternatives according to value before we choose how we’ll spend our next moment. We do this every moment of the day and night:

  • Should I get out of bed or try to sleep longer?
  • If I get up after only 5 hours of sleep, will I have a good day tomorrow?
  • If I try to go back to sleep will it be productive?
  • Have I had enough sleep for tonight?
  • How do I feel?
  • What should I do if I get up early?
  • Do any of my options have enough value for me to decide to get up and risk being sleepy in the day?
  • Should I go to work or school?
  • Should I buy breakfast at the diner or  eat breakfast at home?
  • Should I have oatmeal or eggs and bacon?
  • Do I really want to go to work or school?
  • Do I need anything that going to work or school will provide?
  • Will I miss anything that staying home will cost me?
  • Is money really the most common denominator for accessing the things I value?
  • What job should I perform to obtain the money I value?
  • Should I change my job or continue with what I have been working at?
  • Do I really need to find another job?
  • What would I like to do?
  • What do I like to do most?
  • What wins the most money?
  • Would I rather work at what I like less that earns more or work at something I like more that earns less?

All options have risks of NOT providing value. When risks are considered, many options lose value in ranking or comparing with other options.

  • How do I rank all my options considering potential for providing value and having risks for not.
    • Here we decide the probabilities associated with each option; we prognosticate or predict future outcomes again according to all we’ve learned and believe of options and their potential to satisfy or bring value fulfillment.
    • Our evaluation process may invoke thoughtful consideration and imagination projecting years into the future.
    • If each of these projections continue as thought paths even after we stop focusing on them, how many realities of struggle have we launched into existence? I sure am thankful that I know each projection is perpetually seeking to satisfy and add value fulfillment to its’ existence. I sure am glad visions of the future can be used to change “my today” as well as “the today” of my  projections, even if I did put him on a path I hadn’t fully decided as meritorious. (But alas, I am digressing).
  • What do I value most of my options for obtaining what I value?
  • What option to I value most?
  • What option should I choose?

We, our ego, does this every moment of the day and night.

At each moment point, we decide the next direction to take as we work to solve the problem each moment and our view of reality has given us.

We decide always according to value,  which is always determined according to what we believe we value, which is always determined according to what we believe of the reality within which we find our options for value fulfillment. Values are always determined according to what we desire.

If you Desire it, You’ll ultimately have to decide if you recognize it, in order to believe it and realize it as reality.

Therefore realize today, it is your identification of desire and its’ decision to recognize it true that determines the experience in reality.

There is NO cause and effect, yesterday or tomorrow, only the present and all of reality is experienced within it.
